Speech by the Rector A.U. Kuvandykov at the international scientific and practical conference "Abai's Heritage in the World Spiritual Space".

Dear participants  and guests  of the conference!

Welcome to the conference "Abay's Heritage in the World Spiritual Space" dedicated to the 170th anniversary of Abai Qunanbayev! The land of Eastern Kazakhstan with great joy meets you in Abay's homeland, which gave birth, nourished and gave the world a great thinker, philosopher, composer, founder of Kazakh written literature, a classic.

The heritage of any people in its culture, history and identity of traditions and customs. Society lives by remembering and honoring the names of those who, with greatness of mind and spirit, glorified their people for ages. A vivid example of this, we can name a person whose name is written in gold letters in the annals of times and generations.

Abay Qunanbayev is a phenomenal phenomenon not only of Kazakh, but also world literature. It is impossible to overestimate all his merit before the fatherland, for every generation, re-reading his works, finds new facets of being-and in this the greatness of Abai's words. We need his songs, the words of which we are sorry to lose. We find and support in his "Words of edification."Aspiration  and the desire of a true patriot and son of the Great Steppe sound with the hope that the future is for enlightenment and awakening.

Abai's teaching is the teaching of a humanist whose positions begin with love for one's neighbor, nature, society, and the world.

 Through the prism of the native language, a window to the world opens for the first time. Latitude of views, universality obliges to study the languages ​​of other peoples. The tried and tested path of familiarizing with European culture, Abai promotes  as a universally significant way of familiarizing with the achievements of European civilization.

The works of the great classics Pushkin, Lermontov, Goethe and Byron shone with a  new faces and sounded in the language of the nomadic people with a light touch of Abai's pen to white paper. He subtly conveyed the spirit of translated verses and adapted to the attitude of fellow tribesmen. Huge work on all lines of Abaevism belongs to Mukhtar Auezov. Today, the best minds, bearers of the cultural heritage of their people all over the world, quote words from the great edifications of Abai.

The main task of today's conference is to unite the well-known Aba-scientists, scientists, public figures, as well as teachers and student youth, with one goal: to once again bow their heads to the spirit of the great Abai and pay tribute to and recognition of the writer's creativity, to share with you the joy of celebrating the 170- th anniversary of the enlightener of the people.

EKSUnamed after  S. Amanzholova makes her invaluable contribution to the work of replenishing a large army of writers, poets, journalists, writers and philologists, teaching students at the Faculty of Philology and Journalism, the library of the university has a huge library of books by Abai. The Kazakh language and literature department, where many generations of teachers and scientists passed on their knowledge of the youth to study the work of the great writer.

Students, undergraduates, young teachers not only of this faculty, but also of other specialties were repeatedly participants of the songwriters of Abai songs, winners and prize-winners of poetry contest recipes, and more recently a competition for the best scoring of Abai poems was held.
